It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irene Ashburn Swisher Crabb of Hamptonville, North Carolina, who passed away on February 9, 2025, at the age of 103, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Wright Ashburn and Flora Holcomb Ashburn; her former husband John Swisher; her stepchildren, Ruby Crouse, Ruth Ham, Rosalee Johnson, Virginia Ashburn and Dean Crabb; her grandchildren, Michael Gregory and Angela Mitchell; and also, Barney Crabb and Margaret Swisher.
She is survived by: her children, Anna Dean Thompson, James Swisher (Margaret) and Carol Souther; her stepchild Vaughn Crabb; and her grandchildren, Harold Swisher (Deanna), Darrell Thompson (Shannon), Doyle Thompson (Paula), Regina DeWitt (Wayne), John Wayne Gregory (Wilma), Arnold Souther (Rhonda) and Patricia Ann Goodwin (Dave). She is also survived by several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and several step grandchildren, several step great grandchildren and step great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at 1332 Branon Church Rd, Yadkinville, NC 27055. A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at the same location.
