He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Harold and Virginia Mae Groce Wagoner; his sisters, Lorene Swicegood and Kathleen Rogers; and his uncles, Henry "Tuck" Groce and Hurley Wagoner.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Thompson Wagoner; and his children, Kimberly Wagoner Wilson (Richard), Dawn Hardwick (late Kenny) and Harold Samuel Wagoner, Jr. (Tiffany). He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to either Swaims Baptist Church, Swaims Church Road, Hamptonville, NC 27020 or to Mountain Valley Hospice, 201 Technology Drive, Mt. Airy, NC.
