It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Byrd Shermer (Hamptonville, North Carolina), who passed away on November 13, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Preston Byrd and Hazel Settle Byrd; her siblings, Betty Cudd, Jerry Byrd and David Byrd; and her granddaughter Alicia Shermer.
She is survived by: her children, Jimmy Shermer (Crystal), Kenny Shermer (Angie) and Barbara Brown; her grandchildren, Kyle Shermer (Lakin), Kayla Brown, Lauren Brown and Forrestt Shermer; her great grandchildren, Gatlyn Shermer, Brock Lashley, Kaiden Brown, Alexia Taylor, MacKenna Jarrett and Landon Brown; and her brother Bobby Byrd (Alice).
Visitation was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the West Yadkin Assembly of God (3617 Key St, Hamptonville, NC 27020). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
