He was predeceased by: his parent Smith Cheek; and his sister JoAnn Johnson. He is survived by: his children, Ricky Cheek (April) of Elkin and Denice Cheek of Hamptonville; his brother-in-law Ray Johnson of Clingman; his grandchildren, Joshua Donardt (Tonya) of Ronda, Callie Taylor of Winston Salem, Sydney Cheek of Greensboro and Ryley Cheek of Elkin; and his great grandchildren, Cora Donardt and Jaxson Donardt.
