It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bobby Owen Groce of Hamptonville, North Carolina, who passed away on October 26, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay Dee Groce and Fannie Vestal Groce; his wife Shelby Jean Whitaker Groce; and his sisters, Peggy Wilmoth and Avis Steelman.
He is survived by: his children, Tim Groce (Priscilla) and Sherry Allen (Edward); his grandchildren, Dusty Allen, Ashley Garcia (Brendan) and Kala Longworth (Gregory); his great grandchildren, Brooke Allen, Nick Allen, Sophie Garcia, Xander Garcia, Wesley Longworth and Bobby Longworth; his siblings, Jay Wilson "Moody" Groce (Irene), Mary Shore (Tommy), Delaney Cline and Ronnie Groce (Ann); his sister-in-law Jackie Gough; his friend Sue Owings; and his caregivers, Nancy Crouse, Sandy Brewer, Abbie Hobson, Katlyn King, Lynn Hunt and Hugh Chatham Hospital. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
