He was predeceased by: his wife Maureen Lois Hawkins; and his parents, Roy Sears Hawkins, Sr. and Inez Bennett Hawkins. He is survived by: his children, David Hawkins, Patricia Warwick (Joe), Roger Hawkins (Barbie) and Kathy Wilcox; his grandchildren, Jarrett Harley (Shayla), Catherine Harley, Chance Hawkins, Joey Warwick (Kana), Brent Warwick (Chandra) and Shan Marie Wilcox; and his sister Carolyn Etheredge (Charles). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
