With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Maxine McMillen of Hampstead, North Carolina, who passed away on January 31, 2022 at the age of 93. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Maxine McMillen to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her husband Bill McMillen; and her son David James McMillen. She is survived by: her daughters, Suzanne (Philip Goerger) and Annette (Tim Brooks); and her grandchildren, Sam Goerger (Stacey), Ben Goerger (Candice) and Madison Frye (Adam). She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, and many adoring nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Maxine's memory may be made to Methodist Home for Children, 1041 Washington Street, Raleigh, NC 27605, Harbor United Methodist Church or charity of your choosing.

“Your Mom was such a terrific person. She was funny, kind, and extremely considerate. I remember our parents and their roadies. Maxine sent gave me this incredibly ugly cat figurine for Christmas. We sent it back & forth every Christmas for several years, she was a hoot. Think I still have that cat. Your Mom and Dad were the best neighbors we have ever had. I loved her. Great memories of her laugh. Lou Domanic”
