He was predeceased by: his wife Kathleen Chesnutt Griggs; his parents, Joseph Hilliard Griggs and Thelma Batton Griggs; and his siblings, Ray Daniel Griggs and Mary Griggs Williamson.
He is survived by: his children, Joseph Michael Griggs (April) of Orange and Cynthia Griggs Gore of Dallas; his granddaughters, Jessica Griggs Coleman (Robert) of Madison, Natalie Gore Campbell (Ian) of Dallas and Nicole Leigh Gore of Dallas, Texas.; and his great grandchildren, Carter and Elise Coleman.
