He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeannette I. Pitts and Harold C. Pitts; his parents-in-law, Viola McLain (Mondazzi) and Philip McLain; his sisters-in-law, Joan Sturtevant and Donna Pitts; and his nephew Scott McLain.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Pitts (McLain); his children, Ronald Pitts (Jennifer), Jeffrey Pitts (Lauren) and Jennifer Pitts (Daniel Richards); his grandchildren, Mallory Pitts, Caroline, Anderson Pitts, Mason and Ethan Richards; his siblings, Janice Blankenstein, Wayne Pitts and Kimberly McGrath (Bert McGrath); and his brother-in-law Philip McLain Jr. (Janet McLain).
