Though George Louis may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those George Louis touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hartner and Ethel Hartner; his daughter Alexandra Jane Hartner; and his sister Karen. He is survived by: his wife Jane Cockrell; his son Zeke Hartner; his daughter-in-law Leah Vidovich; and his sisters, Diane Hooker and Robin Middleton. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Memorial Memorial.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations be made in George's memory to Surfer's Healing NC (surfershealingnc.org) (https://surfershealingnc.org), a non-profit that George worked with that gives children with autism the opportunity to surf.
