He was predeceased by: his parents, William Jesse Hord and Bessie McCallum; his wife Ruby; and his son Franklin Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Glenda McKnight (Von), Denise Lordo (Robert), Donna King (Steve), Felicia Campbell (Jerry) and Allen Hord (Kim). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davie County (Trellis Supportive Care) or the American Cancer Society.
