Barbara Stophel Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Stophel of Hampstead, North Carolina, born in Charlotte, North Carolina, who passed away on November 3, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert DeWitt Byrd and Lula Mae Lisk Byrd; and her son Charles DeWitt Stophel (Chuck). She is survived by: her husband Charles C. Stophel of Hampstead; her daughter Nicole Garrett; her grandchildren, Rachel, Luke, Rebekah, Nikolai and Asher; her great grandchild Beckett; and her brother Lyman Byrd (Linda). She is also survived by seven nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in honor of Barbara Stophel to the Children's Home Society of North Carolina, Greensboro, NC.
