He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth "Betsy" Query McNair and Alfred Baldwin McNair; his sister Elizabeth "Beth" McNair Freeman; and his brother-in-law William "Eric" Freeman. He is survived by: his sister Susie McNair Burgess (Michael Burgess); his niece Rebecca Rea Burgess; his nephew John Michael Burgess; his great-niece Josie Marigold Burgess; his great-nephew Jax Allen Burgess; his close friend Cathy Kirkley; and also Jessie Wilson Burgess.
