She was predeceased by: her parents, Jasper Thompson and Mary Locklear Thompson; her husband Charles Sewell; her son Billy Ray Sewell, Sr.; her grandchildren, Kimberly Ann Sewell, Jesse Daniel Sewell and Hannah Rose Sewell; her great grandchild Ryland Owens; and her siblings, Willie Thompson, JP Thompson, Sam Thompson, Leroy Thompson, Melvin Thompson, Ellen Gaye, Edna Perhealth, Mary Ann Milligan, Thelma Dimery, Esther Leviner and Vera Malloy.
She is survived by: her children, Charles Ray Sewell (Joyce) of Hamlet, NC, Rev. Tracy Thad Sewell (Grace) of Hamlet, NC, James Richard Sewell of Hamlet, NC, Janet Deberry of Hamlet, NC, Sara Frances Hicks of Hamlet, NC, Brenda Kay Joyner of Rockingham, NC and Barbara Jean Edmunds (Kevin) of Marston; and her sisters, Joyce Thompson of Gibson, NC and Bonnie Leviner of Hamlet.
