He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Bishop Sr. and Esther Rozell Doud. He is survived by: his wife Bette Taylor Bishop; his children, Alison Parsons (John) and Bill Bishop (Denise); his grandchildren, Meagan Parsons Miller (Justin), Marley Parsons Crouch (Russell), Anna Bishop Charles (Zach), Samuel Bishop and William Bishop; and his great grandchildren, Miles Miller, Maya Miller, Tali Miller, Lucy Crouch, Lila Crouch, Ellie Crouch, June Crouch and Adaline Charles.

In addition to flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made to Fellowship United Methodist Church in Hamlet.
