She was predeceased by: her parents, Edmond Sanford and Mary Owens Heaton; her daughter Cathy Guinn; and her siblings, Earl Heaton, Edna Taylor and Margaret McPherson.

She is survived by: her daughters, Debbie Sue Lence (David) of Hamlet and Lynn Airington Hatcher of Winston Salem; her half-siblings, Mickey Heaton of Scotland, Linda Edwards of Scotland County and Joy Chavis of Scotland County; her sister-in-law Lois Ann Taylor Heaton of Hamlet; her son-in-law Morris Guinn of Rockingham; and her niece Becky Williams of Burgaw. She is also survived by four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
