She was predeceased by: her parents, Lacy Gathings and Gladys Stephens Gathings; and her brothers, William Gathings, Roger Gathings and James Gathings.
She is survived by: her daughter Angela Chavis Mackey (Ryan) of Bennettsville, SC; her sister Betty Mae Depace of Rockingham; and her close friend Tim Young of Hamlet.
