He is survived by: his wife Shirley Jowers Yates; his grandchildren, Josh Weatherford, Amber Ponds, Jeremy Ponds, Trey McKenzie and Hunter McKenzie; his great grandchildren, Jakaer "Bug" Wall, Oliver Berry, Alice Berry and Trey Berry; and his siblings, Robert Yates, Ralph Yates, Betty Short and Joyce Dunlap.
