He is survived by: his children, Sheronda, Jonathan Melton, Lateefah Jackson and Varick Jackson; his grandchildren, Diamond Myles, Shaquanah Jackson, Shampagne Gardner, Antoinette Wilson, Justin Wilson and Bryan Wilson; his siblings, Walter Mumford, Bennie, Sherry Mumford, Patricia, Edward Bauman, Josephine Mumford and Betty Arnold; and the mother of his children Sarah Gallimore. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
