He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleophus Marion Welch and Elizabeth Long Welch Harrison; and his son-in-law Bruce Gillespie. He is survived by: his wife Judy White Welch; his children, David Welch and Laura Welch; his grandchildren, Maggie Gillespie, Kayleigh Welch and D. J. Welch; his brother Bobby Welch; and his stepson Ray Cloninger.
