He is survived by: his wife Betty Yates Short; his daughters, Amy Cherry of Hanahan, SC and Cynthia Briggs (Dan); his grandchildren, Brittany Short-Branch, Ashleigh Short, Brandon Cherry (Katie), Kaleb Briggs and Kasey Briggs; his great grandchildren, Kyandi Branch, Kohlson Branch and Kamreigh Bennett; and his siblings, William Short of Hamlet, Marie Sale of Rockingham and Ella Fields of Hamlet.
