She is survived by: her parents, Louis Douglas Cook and Elizabeth Woodall Cook; her husband Gordon "Reggie" Monroe; her sons, Sean Monroe of Wallace and Chris Monroe; and her sisters, Becky Hargett (Mitchell) of Dallas, Martha Hayes of Laurinburg and Cynthia Cabell of Tallahassee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 208 Charlotte St., Hamlet, NC 28345, or Hospice Haven, 1119 U.S. 1 N., Rockingham, NC 28379.
