He is survived by: his spouse Martha Carter; his children, Sherry Mitchell of Charlotte, Campbell "Norman" Carter of Hamlet, Robert "Robbie" Carter of Hamlet and Charles "Phillip" Carter of Hamlet; his brother Charles Carter Jr. of Statesville; his grandchildren, Benji Carter and Brandon Carter; his great grandchildren, Jerry Carter and Katlyn Carter; and also, Marilyn Kennedy of Raleigh, Carol Graham of Apex and June Ellis of Laurinburg.
