She was predeceased by: her husband Lonnie Erwin Butler; her children, James E. Butler, Lonnie Gene Butler, Nancy Williams and Linda Brooks; and her siblings, Clarence Brown, David Brown and Louise Stringfellow.

She is survived by: her parents, James Allen Brown and Cora Simpson Brown; her children, Patricia Norton (Bobby), Barbara B. Smith (Bubba) of Hamlet and Donnie Butler (Linda) of Hamlet; and her grandchildren, Greg Norton, Chris Norton, Nicole Norton, Corey Smith, Mike Rushing, Tammy R. Flowe, Karen Butler, Allen Butler, Woody Brooks and Brian Brooks. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
