She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Covington and Roberta Gibson Covington; and her sister Mary Hunter Covington. She is survived by: her husband R. Curtis Byrd; her children, Amanda Carol Byrd of Mathews, NC, Richard Curtis Byrd and Charles Michael Byrd (Lisa) of Raleigh, NC; her grandchildren, Hayley Phillips (Tyler) of Cornelius, NC and Emory Byrd; her great grandchild Reese Phillips; and her brother Glenn Covington (Ursula) of Rockingham, NC.. She is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
