She was predeceased by: her husband Van Hugh "Buck" Jackson; her parents, Thomas Clayton Smith and Betty Merle Needham Smith; and her siblings, Rachel Tolleson, Betty Yow, Kay Vercuski, Vera Ukleja, Andy Young, Sarah Smith and Jane Poteat.
She is survived by: her siblings, Rachel Hill, Evelyn Callahan-Cates and Jimmy Smith; her children, Van Hugh Jackson, Jr., Melanie Hancock (Dan), Kim Galloway (Bobby) and Jennifer Settle (Robert); her grandchildren, Lauren Galloway, Clay Galloway (Laurel), Christopher Galloway, Caroline Hancock, Sarah Hancock Skinner (Wade), Katherine Hancock Chandrasena (Shyendra), William Hancock, Van Hugh Jackson, III, Jackson Settle and Stewart Settle; her great grandchildren, Martha Kate, Liza Skinner, Hazel and June Galloway; and her grandsons, Jeremy Touchstone, Nic Touchstone, Brenden Touchstone and Court Settle. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
