It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shafter Sasser of Hallsboro, North Carolina, born in Columbus, North Carolina, who passed away on October 12, 2021, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Shafter Sasser and Ethel Elizabeth Pierce Sasser; and his siblings, Jack Sasser, Leotha Jordan, Carolyn Hester and Esther Williamson.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Tippett Sasser; his daughter Melinda Sasser Moore (Jerry) of Charlotte; his siblings, Eugene Sasser of Whiteville, Doris Nichols (Earl) of Bishopville, SC, Sarah Sasser Crawford (Charles) of Whiteville and Patricia Sasser Russ of Whiteville; and his grandchildren, Jason Moore and Ashley Moore.
