He was predeceased by: his father Michael Matthew Gilliland. He is survived by: his children, Michael Gilliland (Annie) of Laurel Hill and Megan G. Cartrette (Ashley) of Whiteville; his grandchildren, Hannah Gilliland, Michael Matt Gilliland, Barrett Gilliland, Haley Cartrette, Ashton Cartrette and Greylynn Cartrette; his great grandchild Gabriel Gilliland; and his close friend Carol West of Whiteville.
