He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Loyd Edward and Louise Mullis Dickens; his wife Regina Schaaf Dickens; his stepmother Doris Tart Dickens; his siblings, Dalton T. Dickens (Donna) and Celestia D. Long; and his mother-in-law Diane S. Medlin (Dale).
Memorial contributions may be made to either the Wayne "Dude" Dickens Welding Scholarship at Halifax County Community College; or to Weavers Chapel United Methodist Church.
