He is survived by: his wife Shirley Harlow Askew of Darlington, NC; his children, Sharon Askew Barlow (Edward) of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Linda Askew Warren, Kip of Darlington, NC and Michael Mitchell (Stephanie) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his adoptive son Mark Warren of Darlington, NC; his grandchildren, Christopher Nowell of Roanoke Rapids, Ashley Bennett (Matthew) of Roanoke Rapids, Nathan Barlow of Roanoke Rapids, Justin Barlow (Lauren) of Roanoke Rapids, Michael Mitchell Jr. of Roanoke Rapids, Zackery Warren of Darlington, Melanie Craft of Rocky Mount, NC and Makenzie Hamilton of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his great grandchildren, Landen Nowell, Braxton, Matilyn Bennett, Hayden, Waylon Barlow, Tanner, Jacob Barlow and Bryceson Craft; his siblings, Bettie Askew-Rowland of Darlington, NC, Margaret Askew Purkett of New Jersey and James Askew (Viola) of Ahoskie, NC; his sisters-in-law, Fran Rowland of Darlington, NC and Peggy Askew of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his nieces and nephews, Shirley Finch, Christi Yarbough, Sheryl Mayle, Joe Rowland, Michael Rowland, Doug Askew of Curvey, Paul Purkett, Keith Askew and Bo; and also Sherrie Beal.
