He was predeceased by: his parents, Coail Smith and Nellie Armstrong Smith; and his siblings, Cecil Smith of Germany, Nelson Smith of Alaska, Freddie Smith of Roanoke Rapids, Ronnie Smith of Roanoke Rapids, Virginia Smith Norris of Roanoke Rapids, Shirley Smith Moseley of Roanoke Rapids, Joyce Smith Baker of Stuart, VA and Bill Smith of Manteo.
He is survived by: his friend Doc Murphrey.
