He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Bess and Ruth Bess. He is survived by: his siblings, Ken and Kay Bess; his granddaughter Amanda Christine Putnam; his wife Gail Bess; his son Warren "Butch" Putnam; his sister Pauline Cabiness; his granddaughters, Brandi Baliles (Chris) and Sara Putnam; and his great grandchildren, Catlin Jordan, Lorelai Jordan, Brailynne Baliles and Warren Baliles.
