He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Lewis and Gertrude Johnson Lane; his wife Ann Parker Lane; his children, Cherie L. Boyd of Chocowinity, Tammy Lane of Macclesfield, Vickie Gaynor of Grimesland, Rebecca Clark of Washington and Robert L. Lane, III of Winterville; and his sisters, Barbara Jean Thorpe of Rocky Mount and Carolyn Sue Sato of Clemmons. He was also cherished by 14 grandchildren.
