He was predeceased by: his parents, Claxton Godfrey Stancill, Sr. and Minnie J. Stancill; his son Michael Willis Stancill; his brother Claxton Godfrey Stancill, Jr.; and his former wife Dorothy Louise Harris.
He is survived by: his children, Dr. Robert Johnston Stancill (Claire Pertalion) of Raleigh and Willa Stancill Paton-Smith (Jon) of Atlanta, GA; his grandchildren, Blaine Stancill (Lisa) of New Hill, Chase Stancill of Snead's Ferry, Mark Stancill of Beaufort, Samantha Stancill of San Diego, CA, Katherine Paton-Smith of Atlanta, GA and Julia Paton-Smith of Atlanta, GA; his great grandchildren, Theo Godfrey Stancill of New Hill and Beau Stancill of New Hill; his sister Emily Pascasio (Lee) of Greenville; his nephew Harrell "Skip" Pascasio; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Cloe and Kaley; his niece Alicia San Gil (Inigo); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Sahani and Sidney; his niece Wanda Williams; and his great-nieces, Ginger Hatcher and Brittany Dail.
