He was predeceased by: his father Edmond Matthews. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Matthews; his sons, Timothy E. Matthews of New Haven, CT and Troy J. Matthews of New Haven, CT; and his siblings, James L. Matthews of Pinetops, NC, Mary A. Johnson of Rocky Mount, NC and Amy Keel of Bridgeport, CT. He is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
