He was predeceased by: his parents, William Casper and Louise Johnson Eakes; and his siblings, James Harold Eakes, Sr., Mary Eakes and Holloman.

He is survived by: his wife Terri Eakes; his son Brad Eakes (Melissa) of Ayden; and his grandchildren, Grayson and Anna Brooks Eakes. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
