He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Meltzer and Barbara Meltzer (Keuzenkamp); and his brother Gary. He is survived by: his son David Matthew (Marianne); his wife Elaine Allison Dean of Hudson, Ohio.; and his granddaughter Stella.
Many of the pilots he trained told him how he made a big contribution to their successful careers.
