It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Stevenson Whitehurst (Greenville, North Carolina), born in Robersonville, North Carolina, who passed away on July 6, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Eli Stevenson and Katheline Stevenson; her husband Joseph Warren "Joe" Whitehurst, Sr.; and her daughter Cathy Whitehurst Ellis. She is survived by: her sons, Joseph Warren "Joey" Whitehurst, Jr. (Corinne) of Whitehurst Station and Steve Whitehurst (Jennie) of Greenville; her grandchildren, Justin Whitehurst (Caty) of Whitehurst Station, Jenna Aldridge (Heber) of Greenville and Keri Whitehurst (Parker Earnest) of Denver, Colorado; her great grandchild Ivy Whitehurst; her brother Ellis Stevenson (Jerry) of Spring Hill, Florida; and her parents-in-law, J. H., Barbara Whitehurst, Clayton Everett and Pearl Whitehurst. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
