He was predeceased by: his son Joshua Randall Butler; his parents, Hubert Gray Butler and Mary J. Blake; and his stepfather Stephen Grady Blake. He is survived by: his daughter Jennifer Smith (Jason); his grandson Chandler; his brothers, Stephen Butler (Phyllis) and Matt Blake; his cousin Diane Barnhill (Earl); and his close friend Jeff Smith.
