He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Wesley Smith and Julia Griffin Smith. He is survived by: his son Philip Wesley Smith, II; his wife Karen of Ayden; his grandchildren, Zack, Griffin, Macy, Nicholas and Cameron; his siblings, Betsy Elks (Billy) of Greenville and Harold Smith (Diane) of Texas; and also, Richard Troy Smith (Sharon) of Greenville and Kevin Wayne Smith (Louisa) of Greenville. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
