She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy Stocks and Olive Sutton Stocks; her siblings, Claudie Earl Stocks (Lois Jane), Walter Ashley, Laman Ray Stocks, Carolyn Sue Stocks and Linda Stocks Sumerlin (Wade); and her sister-in-law Linda Higson Adams (Troy).
She is survived by: her former husband James Earl Higson; her husband Phillip Smith; her granddaughter Jessica Higson Best (William) of Greenville; her great grandchildren, Allison Paige, Ava Presley and Wyatt Reid Best; and her brothers-in-law, Wayne Higson (Elizabeth) and Gene Higson of Greenville. She is also survived by two nephews and four nieces.
