It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mimi Tripp Denton (Greenville, North Carolina), who passed away on May 23, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jarvis Tripp and Nina Tripp; and her siblings, Grace T. Pate, Jean T. Manning and Jarvis Tripp Jr..
She is survived by: her husband Edgar; her daughter Donna D. Harris (Danny); her granddaughter Shelley H. Shoemaker (Glen); her great grandchildren, Macon and Audrey (Zebulon); her granddaughter Jennifer H. Rogers (Jay); her great grandchild Ava Leigh (Greenville); her son Wayland Denton (Elaine); her grandson Derek (Carley); her great grandchildren, Lucy and Benjamin (Baton); her grandson Scott (Albemarle); her son Steve Denton (Shirley); her grandson Bobby (Mindy); her great grandchildren, Landon and Luke; her grandson Bradley; her son Wrighton; and the parent of her child Alexis Blake. She is also survived by her six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Mimi was a dedicated lay member and attended faithfully into her early 90's, before the covid pandemic and failing health began to take its toll.
