He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred E. Wirth Sr. and Vivian Jensen Wirth; and his siblings, Alfred E. Wirth Jr., Donald B. Wirth, James K. Wirth and Christina E. Plenger.
He is survived by: his children, Michael "Craig" Wirth of Farmville, Jennifer Mitchell (Sean) of Winterville and Constance B. Wirth of Kinston; his grandchildren, Callie, Avery Mitchell, Michelle Wirth and Sydney Roman; his sisters, Barbara J. Hintze, Dianna Delph-Davis and Cynthia L. Fox; his brothers-in-law, Kevin Fox and Paul Plenger; and his friend Red. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers (in consideration of his love for animals), the family asks that donations be made to the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina.
