She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Franklin "Jack" Lewis and Mary Francis Whitehurst Lewis; and her husband William Ray Long. She is survived by: her children, Anna Caroline Long of Portland, Oregon, Holley Whitehurst Long of Coats, William Ray Long and Junior (Kaitlin) of Pittsburgh; her siblings, Benjamin Franklin Lewis, Junior (Paula Bromley) of Winchester, VA, Pattie Francis Lewis Winslow (Lloyd Newbern Winslow) and Ellen; her grandmother Et Lewis Charles; and also Emmy Kathryn Long.

Anyone wishing to honor Caroline's memory may make a charitable donation to one of the following organizations: Farmville Presbyterian Church, Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Farmville, American Cancer Society, or Emerge Gallery and Art Center in Greenville, North Carolina.
