He is survived by: his wife Jean Odom James; his daughter Amy Janning (Joey) of Goldsboro, NC; his grandchildren, Alayna Janning, Will Janning and Wyatt Janning; his son Phillip James of Greenville; and his siblings, Muriel Mobley and Douglas M. James (Ann). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
