He was predeceased by: his parents, George Murdie and Alma Harrellson Russ; his wife Elizabeth Jean Russ; and his daughter Barbara Jean Russ May. He is survived by: his daughters, Sue Russ Cannon (Jack) of Ayden and Donna Russ Smith (Mark) of Winterville; his grandchildren, Jessica Boyd Wilkins, Richard Smith (Sarah) and Mary Beth Lamas (Christian); his great grandchildren, Alyssa, LaylaAnn, Johnnie, Liam, Ezra and Grady; and his brother Sherrod Russ.
