With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Katherine Joyce Burney (Greenville, North Carolina), born in Clarkton, North Carolina, who passed away on December 20, 2018 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilbur Atkinson and Olive Atkinson; her sisters, Juanita Moore and Virginia Dennis; her daughter Karen Joyce Burney; and her stepmother Lucille Atkinson.
She is survived by: her husband Leon; her daughters, Joi Burney Hadnott (Kenneth Hadnott, Jr) of Greenville and Tiffany Burney Bowman (Jeffrey Bowman) of Greenville; her sister Barbara Miller; her stepsisters, Marcille Bass and Claudia Hester; and her grandchildren, Katherine Bowman, Kade Bowman, Matthew Hadnott, Alexander Hadnott and Olivia Hadnott.
