With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joseph Patrick Whitehurst (Greenville, North Carolina), who passed away on September 22, 2020 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifton Whitehurst and Susan Whitehurst. He is survived by: his wife Joan Parker Whitehurst; his daughters, Jan Whitehurst Doss (Steve) of Winterville, Angie Whitehurst Pearce (Ashley) of Wake Forest and Lynn Whitehurst Ferebee (Jett) of Falkland; and his grandchildren, Stephanie Doss Nall (Zach), Jennifer Leigh Doss, Chloe Alexandra Pearce, Mikaela Paige Pearce, John Jethro Ferebee, III, Virginia Parker Ferebee, Mary Patrick Ferebee and Joseph Scott Ferebee.
