He was predeceased by: his parents, James Milton Tyson and Katie Lee Heath; his wife Hattie Mae Tyson; his siblings, Donald Tyson, Kenneth Tyson, Edna Earl Nethercutt, Mary Evelyn Tyson and Linda Tyson Milobar; his grandson Scott Bradley Tyson; and his son-in-law Billy Worthington.
He is survived by: his children, Jerry Alan Tyson (Carolyn) of Swansboro, NC, Deborah Tyson Barrington (Ted Dennis) of Greenville, NC and Elaine Tyson Worthington of Greenville, NC; his brothers, James M. Tyson (Susan) of Farmville, NC and Cecil Tyson (Freddie) of Kinston, NC; his siblings-in-law, Lou Faircloth, Shirley Buck and Saulter (Joyce); his grandchildren, Jeff Tyson (Kim Day), John Tyson (Kelly), Cindy Cherry (Tim), Stevie Barrington and Michael Baker (Trina); his great grandchildren, Andrew, Ashley Tyson, Leann Gardner (Mark), Caitlyn, Justin Cherry, Brianna, Emma Baker, Summer and Brooke Tyson; and his great great grandchildren, Olivia Tyson and Zealand Gardner.
