He is survived by: his children, Pat Hines (Scott) of Hickory, Jack Brown Jr. (Teresa) of Rockingham and Bill Brown (Debbie) of Chincoteague, VA; the mother of his children Betty Adkins of Greenville, SC; his sisters, Bonnie Bishop of Greenville, SC and Katie Swett of Alabama; and his grandchildren, Mallory Smith (C. J. Rockingham), Ryan Brown of Winchester, Virginia, Chase Brown of Richmond, Gypsy Fisher of Greenville, SC, Arlie Sogard (Alex) of Beaver Creek, Scotti Carnes (Josh) of Sylva, NC and Taylor Hines (Meredith) of Hickory. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
